Schools

 

Parker is in the Prairie View Unified School District No. 362, which includes northern and a portion of western Linn County and portions of southern Miami County. The district includes elementary schools in Parker and La Cygne that serves students from pre-school to fifth grade.

 

Students in sixth- through eighth-grades attend Prairie View Middle School before moving on to Prairie View High School. Prairie View high and middle schools are in the Pioneer League which includes Anderson County, Osawatomie, Iola, Wellsville, Burlington, Santa Fe Trail.

 

Prairie View is also a member of the Southeast Technical Academy for Rural Students (STARS) in Pleasanton, Kansas. STARS has instructors under an agreement with Fort Scott Community College that teach trade courses to juniors and seniors. Those courses include emergency medical, heavy equipment, construction, HVAC, welding and more.
